Five Shocking Pieces of NFT Art!

Tyler Tilley’s NFT Art “BEAN” one of the milder depictions from his “Creating New Gods The Old Ones are Useless” art series at Mintable.app.

As NFT Art becomes popular, so does the age-old tradition of using art to disturb and shock the observer. Meet a few of the artists carrying on that tradition.

  1. Tyler Tilley a pop artist who has recently been minting disturbing pop art at Mintable.app. Tyler Tilley’s work is from his offline series entitled “Creating New Gods. The Old Ones are Useless.”. This series recreates popular and sometimes beloved icons into repulsive and at times monstrous beings.
  2. Over on the Hive blockchain, NFTShowroom.com has works from a young artist named @Elias15g. The work“A Danger Farmer” depicts an innocent-looking character, casually looking at you, with his rifle over his shoulder, blood-soaked clothes, surrounded by bodies. It felt as though one happened to cross paths with a young Anton Chigurh out on a deadly stroll.
  3. Not to be outdone, the popular artist Dreamonaught at MakersPlace.com has one piece that took this novice art critic aback; “Succubus”. It seemed appropriately off-putting and created a sense of discomfort. Admittedly this might be a result of the scenes from “American Gods” which inspired every man watching, to stay home, with pants on.
  4. Back on Mintable.app on the Ethereum side is a new shocking piece from Waynewood entitled “The People Vs The New World Order”. This disgusting piece shows Uncle Sam on his knees with an aroused Satan looking over him.
  5. Last but not least is our friends at the marketplace OpenSea.io and the NFT album covers of a band called Teddy Killerz. These depict teddy bear figures who went to the school of Chuckie and moved up to graduate from the University of American Psycho. Suffice it to say, after viewing these I made sure that Junior Bear, who I have had for forty years was still locked up in the memento tub.

If you have looked at a few of these and want something a little less intense check out John Noorlander’s “Infinite Sculpture 1” at Nifty Gateway. A peaceful meditative experience!
